Where do you even start with a wedding like this?! Let’s take it from the beginning. They met the summer before Jenny’s final year at school. Spent a lot of time together that summer in Eau Claire tubing down the Chippewa river and having bonfires, while bonding over music and the rest has now turned into a beautiful life they now share in a cute little Minneapolis home with their little pup Penelope! One reading from their wedding really hit me in the feels has you can tell not only how much love they have for each other but for their fur baby Penelope. It goes like this:
How falling in Love is like Owning a Dog (excerpt)
By Taylor Mali
On cold winter nights, love is warm.
It lies between you and lives and breathes
and makes funny noises.
Love wakes you up all hours of the night with its needs.
It needs to be fed so it will grow and stay healthy.
Love doesn’t like being left alone for long.
But come home and love is always happy to see you.
It may break a few things accidentally in its passion for life,
but you can never be mad at love for long.
Sometimes love just wants to go out for a nice long walk.
Because love loves exercise. It will run you around the block
and leave you panting, breathless. Pull you in different directions
at once, or wind itself around and around you
until you’re all wound up and you cannot move.
Throw things away and love will bring them back,
again, and again, and again.
But most of all, love needs love, lots of it.
And in return, love loves you and never stops.
How perfect is that?! Jenny, being a graphic designer, absolutely crushed it on the design for her wedding day. Personalized seed packets for table assignments…soft touch programs + invitations…custom made ceremony backdrop… the only thing Jenny didn’t plan was Andrew busting out his guitar after their first dance to sing her “I wanna grow old with you” as seen on the movie “The Wedding Singer”. If that wasn’t perfect enough, we got a STUNNING sunset and evening to sneak away for a moment so they could really take the day in with a gorgeous view of downtown Minneapolis. A perfect day or a great couple. Congratulations Jenny + Andrew (and Penelope)! May you keep your vowed promise of “I promise to stay weird, and in turn love your weirdness, because what kind of love is worth loving if it’s just normal? And I like our weirdness.” because I love your weirdness, cute selves too. xo
